adding external models

I went to [Documents > DAZ 3D > Studio > My Library] to input some third-party models, but i didnt see anything in the folder other than the Scenes. Shouldn't there be somewhere to put the files or do i just put them in the My Library folder?

Went in what? A file browser? You can use File>Import from anywhere, under Other Import formats you can find supported files in any folder in the other formats content directory so you are free to create sub-folders as you wish.

@joeyy.schultzz There are multiple ways to install 3rd-Party Content and you can put the files in an already mapped directory/folder (such as: My Library), or into a new directory and then map the directory in Daz Studio... Here are 3 ways:

    1. (NOTE: I think this is the easiest way) Make a new folder for your 3rd party content, for example on an external drive, then in the Daz Content Directory Manager add that folder location (Daz Preferences --> Content Tab --> Content Directory Manager).
Follow the steps in this video...

    2. As you mentioned, you can use the "My Library" under your username for anything you install manually (i.e. 3rd-Party Content). Drag-and-Drop the 3rd-Party content sub-folders (under the Content or My Library folder in the extracted zip folder) to the Daz Library folder and the product folders can then merge with the matching folders in My Library.  On my Windows PC, I store most Daz content on an external drive, but I do have some content on my C drive in the folder, "My Daz 3D Library" because I install most everything with DIM and it puts it there: C:/Users-->Public-->Public Documents-->My DAZ 3D Library
Here are a couple of videos showing this process...

    3. I prefer to use Smart Content, so I use Content Wizard for most 3rd-Party products, and then I can install them with the Daz Install Manager (DIM).
