Error loading PBRSkin Shader - solved

Singular3DSingular3D Posts: 529

Just installed Genesis 8.1 and the character Richard manually to my DS 4.15.

When loading Richard, I get an error regarding the shader file
data/daz 3d/built-in content/daz iray pbrskin/pbrskin.dsf

It seems that this file is not existing in my library. Where do I get it?

Thanks, Sing

Did you install the update for the Default Resources when Genesis 8.1 came out, or since?

I don't have 4.15 to test, but I'm assuming the PBRSkin shader won't funtion at all on 4.15.

I do have 4.12.1 beta installed and it dosen't work in that version.

I just looked into my product library and installed the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials stuff. I got Genesis 8.1 and could load it. It seems that the PBR skins where not part of it.

How do I get this Default Resources? Do I have to use a newer Daz Studio version?

    Thanks, Sing

It will appear in any download/instal method - it's one of the packages that comes with Daz Studio, along with the Genesis # Starter Essentials and the dForce Starter Essentials.

Then you assume wrong. 4.15 introduced the ability.

You're right, and the shader was added even earlier than that.

I just had a look at the changelog....

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log_4_15_0_30

    • Source maintenance

    • Update to NVIDIA Iray 2020.1.2 (334300.5582)

    • Added pbr_skin.mdl shader

DAZ Studio : Incremented build number to 4.14.1.12

    ---

I just didn't recall when users gained access to it and it became usable.

Thanks to all. It was located in the Default Resources as part of the Daz Studio Download.
