Renders closing unexpectedly

Have any of you here ever had the following happen to you?

 

I was in the middle of working on a render on DAZ Studio 4.20 when I paused the render so I could check on its settings using the render settings panel on the left side of the render window, but when I clicked on the toggle tab to open the panel, the render (but not Daz Studio itself) suddenly and unexpectedly closed - and this happened when the render I was working on was 92% complete.

 

To say that I was frustrated about what happened is an understatement, to say the least - at that point, I felt like taking a sledgehammer to my computer because of the unexpected closure of the render and all the work put in up to that point (near completion) being lost because of it.
