Is there a setting that I'm missing for the color picker?

I would like the old color picker back please, this one is ugly.

Is there a setting somewhere that I might have overlooked?

Thanks

YES! Those are the ones I want back! They were there a couple of years ago and now they're gone. This one that I have now is stupid. No color sliders so I have to "click click click click click, type type type type type..." to adjust specific values. BOOOOOO!

There's no way to get those back?

I tell ya, I go away for a couple of years, and all heck has broken loose with this program.

EDIT: So I just discovered that there is no color picker at all? I cant seem to grab a color off my screen like I could before? Is there a way to pick a color in a scene? If not, that makes this more stupider.... yea thats right, I said "more stupider", cause...... you know......

    :(

Don't want to get anyones hopes up, but oddly there was interest recently of trying to revive this extremely well thought color utility, Jovian Color:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20110310114905/http://www.joviancolorpicker.com/Features.aspx

Unfortunately, links don't work. Newtek bought & incorporated Jovian into Lightwave, so the standalone had to go away.  How things change.

I fortunately still have my copy & it works great with current version of DS snd it's fossil of a color picker.

Jovian is color space agnostic, so I can simply Screen pick back and forth between DS (and actually paste into the custom colors) and any other app I have open that uses color. The value copied or pasted is correct for either.

Ken Nign (aka Ken9) apparently still lurks on the Newtek forum & mentioned some update activity. I'll try to relay any news.

Try holding down the SHIFT+CTRL buttons then click the color bar of the color you want to change. If you hold the mouse button down you should see it change to a crosshair.

    This is a color picker.

You can select any color from any place on your screen by holding those 3 buttons down and moving the crosshair to what ever color you want.

You should see the color change as your crosshair passes over things on the screen.

The color is selected when you release the left mouse button.

CTRL+Z to undo if you don't want that color.

    • Fixed a crash when attempting to access the color picker dialog on macOS 11 (Big Sur), or newer

      • The Qt standard color picker (which does not result in a crash) is used instead of the native macOS color picker

I don't know - one might hope that the move to Qt 5 (or whatever) will alow DS 5 to revert to using the more full-featured API.
