How to set center of large Environments

edited December 1969 in New Users

I was hoping someone can help me out here.

Is here a way to set the center point of a large environment so new people, objects, appear where I want them to? Where Im working on the map.
I'm working on the Urban sprawl and all my modeling is in the middle-ish area of this huge map. Anything I add to the scene pops up in one of the far corners. To make things worse, all my characters/props are rotating in relationship to this corner spawn point.
Its driving me nuts!
I hope there is an easy solution.

Thanks In Advance

The best way I can think of to do this is to choose the largest piece of the Urban Sprawl set and parent all the other pieces to it, if they are not already. Select the largest piece and use the parameters to move the whole scene to relocate the buildings and in turn the centre where you want it according to the scene.

Hold ALT when dragging in new figures or props and you can place them wherever you wish.

The only slight issue with this is that the place you drop the target is treated as the origin when loading the item - so if, like parts of the Dream Home, it loads offset from the origin it will load offset from the drop point. But in general this is a good way to work.

    Or...

You can load a figure, then load the environment and move the environment until the part of the environment where you want your figures to load matches the figure that you loaded first.

Then all of the figures that you subsequently load will appear there.
