You guys like it? That is sooooo great to hear! I worked really hard on it, so to hear that you like it, just fills me with unreasonable happiness.

Thank you so much, you have no idea.

    laugh

I make book covers for cozy mysteries, so anything magic-y–potions, vials–is a to great interest to me. The gadgetry here doesn't quite fit, but they look so great, I'll find a way to use them. And I'm a huge fan of Young Frankenstein. :P  I also love that the wall are removable–it makes camera placement much easier. TBH, the main promo image didn't much grab me, but fortunately, I looked inside.

Nice detail that it includes a brain... I was hoping for Hans Dell Brooks' brain, but Abby Normal's will have to do.

     Those Things,

Yep, the Mad Science Laboratory is a good set. Looks straight out of a Mike Mignola "Hellboy" scene.

    Cheers!

You should totally be proud of this! It's something unique that I don't have that gives me some neat ideas for stuff. I'm looking forward to what you come up with next.

Also, since you're here in this thread, your 50 advanced seated poses and 100 ultimate superhero poses are two sets I use a lot in my work, so thank you for all that you do!

This lab set has much of what you need to kitbash that scene, and all the components can be loaded separately, rearranged, and scaled.

Awesome set for sure.  All those gadget props will work great in retro sci-fi too!  Very cool.  *Thumbs up*

Inspired by the same sources, I think. Necessarily a little different in the details.

  • This is an amazing set. Well done.

If only it were that simple. Finding everything is one thing. The cost of purchasing multiple products is another. And a lot of stuff out there is toony. Toony stuff is fine for many but I need realistic versions.

Probably because it's the most expensive machine in the hospital.

A number of years ago during Halloween give aways, Renderosity had a Frankenstein set, with a character for Freak4, plus a lab set up. You would have to buy it now if it still exists, as it's been a long time since I've come across it..

    Funny you should mention that...

This device is what I always pictured in my head when I heard that line about "Ah, I see you've found the machine that goes PING!  It is my favorite!"  But I've never actually seen that particular Monty Python movie, and it turns out it was some other device altogether.

That said, THIS device is one of those things that's shown up in everything from the 80s Star Trek movies to Airplane II: The Sequel.  I suppose with a bit of retexturing it could pass for 1920s Mad Scientist.

edit: Actually, most of the things in the bundle that one came from could also easily pass for Mad Scientist.

  • Yup, that's the very device I linked to above. :D  Neat that someone JUST released a replica of it for Daz Studio. :D

It's in my wishlist. Not very robust and half the items are toony. I need to do a lot of Photoshopping to make it work for my needs so I need to get it cheap. Otherwise it's not worth my time. I don't expect Daz to make it cheap just for rme.

I particularly like "The Coil" from that bundle, and now it's in my wishlist. smiley

  • I found him! Ok, so the base figure is Drutherson 8, and it's also his materials. Dial just the body down to 49% (leave Drutherson head set to 100%), add 19.8% Bulwarg (everything is better with a little Bulwarg), and turn up the "Heavy" body shape to 41.7%. Lower the brows till they look right, and mouth width to -100%. Drutherson ears to 0%. Dress him in black and get angry at him when he brings you the wrong brain.
