SS Marcoor Lifts - missing file
Hello together,
a few weeks ago, I had created a scene with the SS Marcoor Lifts. Made several renders with it, saved everything cleanly as a scene and all was well. Even later, loading and changing the scene was possible without any problems. There was never an error message.
Now, a few weeks later, I wanted to test something new with the scene. I loaded the scene and got the following error message:
Files missing: /Textures/ToxicAngel/Marcoor_Lifts/3_specular.jpg
The scene already load after skiping the error message, but when I change the scene and render it, all is extremly pixeld and dark. Everything is no longer correct.
It is the same, when I start a brand new scene with SS Marcoor lifts. I got also the same error message. Unfortunately, uninstalling and reinstalling SS Marcoor Lifts did not solve the problem either. The error remains.
Now I don't know what to do. Do you know this problem?

If you look with a file browser on the given path, can you then see the file?
Have you recently done any changes to how you install files or settings in Daz Studio?
Was it made/loaded in an older version of Daz Studio? A couple of products/series have had issues because the paths had doubled-up the opening /, so they began "//Runtime/Textures/..." instead of "/Runtime/Textures/...". If that is the issue you can fix it by editing the .duf file (though for a scene you will need to uncompress it first, using the Batch Convert pane or an archive tool such as 7Zip) though it should also be reported to support fir fixing.
The file is available.
I install everything via DazCentral and then I also do the DAZ updates via it when new ones are available.
The following is displayed in DazCentral: - Version 4.15 - Size: 1.1GB
When I open DazStudio via Open, however, DAZ 4.20 opens.
Can this be related to this?
I will try out your tip with the .duf. Hopefully I will be able to fix it.
Thanks a lot
I get the same error with one of the preloads, for the 3Delight materials, and it does have doubled slashes as I suggested - the Iray version of the preload, for me at least, does load without error.
Thank you, I have the same problem with Emrys Bree HD for Aubrey 8 Looks in the runtime folder, the error is with her eyes. I would just point to the folder it was in since I knew where to look. I also have one that points to the Admin Account with no account name Admin on my machine. That one was the Royal Eastern - The Asian Dragon
Edit for question: Would the edit look like this? Since the BreeEyes01_1006.jpg is the problem file.
{
"id" : "BreeEyes01_1006.jpg-5",
"name" : "BreeEyes01_1006.jpg",
"map_gamma" : 0,
"map" : [
{
"url" : "/Runtime/textures/Emrys/Bree/BreeEyes01_1006.jpg",
"label" : "BreeEyes01_1006.jpg"
}
]
},
Or should I put the whole path in?
Your tip was a bull's eye. Thank you very much. I do indeed have the duplicate
I have now unpacked the . duf with 7 Zip, corrected it and saved it. But how can I now make the .duf out of it again, because the change has not been made in the .duf scene. It still opens with the error.
I cannot create a . duf file with 7 Zip.
The paths are embedded in the scene as they were in the preload - you should be able to perform the same fix (uncompress and delete the extra /) or, now that you have the fixed version, just load it in place of the version with the bad settings (assuming you haven't customised it) or manually reapply the correct tecture, now you know what it is.
I know nothing about how to do this really is there a tutorial on the subject?
Now it has worked. Thank you again
I had thought too complicated and unzipped the file completely. That's why I had it in a file folder and could no longer open the file with DAZ.
Now I have edited all 3 scene duf directly in 7zip and saved it. Then I was asked whether the change should also be made in the archive, which I confirmed.
Then the scene was loaded and this time without error message
However, if I now want to build a completely new scene with Marcoor Lifts and open the file directly in DAZ, I still get an error message as before.
Unfortunately, the original file cannot be corrected in the same way. I then get the message: Cannot be opened as an archive.
Do I have to save the scene as a scene first and then take the diversions via the scene? Or do I have to open the original file differently?
With Richard's help, I went this way:
Please report the issue to support - I have flagged it for Jack but I'm not sure that PC QA isn't mixed in with geenral QA now, so a ticket is the ebst way to be sure it is fixed proeprly rather than patched ad hoc by end users.
i will do. thanks
Yes, you are right Richard.
I have send the support ticket:
Please don't quote tickets, even if that was only the auto-response (which at least confirms it is in the system).
oh sorry. i didn't know that
