Starting and using the Pose Builder

I find myself in much the same situation as many others in the Forum. I purchased and installed Pose Builder this morning. Imagine my surprise when I watched the video, read the Pose Builder Tutorial and Tips, and could not find any info anywhere on where to start the program! After going through almost every page of the forum on this issue, I finally found where it was located.

Then I found that in spite of many poses being available on my PC, I have to select them one at a time in order to use them. No information on how to load a complete directory of poses, or even a folder of poses, and have them available to choose via the thumbnail.

I don't want to denigrate the amount of work that has gone into this program, but at the current time, I cannot see how it will help me do the fairly simple tasks I need to do. For example, I need to position a male body, lying on his stomach, and modify the position of the arms and legs to correspond to a crime scene. Simple, it should be, but in reality, it isn't.

Changing the pdf document to reflect the actual needs for identifying where the normal location of the poses and how to select them. How to place an icon or menu item in Daz Studio that will select the Pose Builder would also help.

There are many little tweaks that could be done that would greatly improve this script.

If you have any suggestions for me, I would appreciate it.

If you need more than a folder full of poses to work with then take all the ones you want to use and dump them into a folder together. Simply start a new folder where ever you want in studio and then copy and paste them over. I don't really think you can blame pose builder for products being in a folder of their own when you get them and for most people having hundreds or in some cases thousands of poses all together would be a nightmare.

You would need a pose where the body was on its stomach on the floor and then needs poses that were placed like you think the body's arms would be. Pose builder works with existing poses to streamline the creation of new pose combinations. It doesn't create new poses out of the air.

Most of that would depend on the poses. If I have a V4 pose I want to use (after converting to duf) that is not going to be anywhere near where the poses I might also use that were created for V6. And not everyone leaves things default (sadly). Nor does everyone own the same poses beyond a few basic ones that come with the essential files. The pose builder icon is in the pose builder folder. I'm not sure what other location you want it in and why though.

I'm in the same situation as you were ... for the life of me, I can't figure out how to start it.  Where did you end up finding it?  Thanks!

Never mind ... finally found it.  In the "Smart Content" tab, Utilities->Scripts.  Yeah, I'm new to the more intricate workings of Daz.  Took me awhile to think to look there.  Learn something new everyday

Well Kaliadder, I bought the whole bakery, and I am so terribly disappointed. You can't seem to build a pose, you can only modify one that is already done! I need to build a pose for an elderly lady with one leg significantly shorter than the other, and baddly twisted, which causes a lot of distortion in her posture and walk. I can't seem to find any way to do this. I have purchased product after product that has extremely limited use, and none to me.

If anyone has a good idea, I am willing to hear it! I have to use V4 figure because that is the only skeleton available.

Yah i was wonder same thing as I paid for this thing so that i can  build out any posses as this addon describs but i can not do this at all as it opens a blank folder when you select pose button for upper or bottom pose , Terribly disappointed.as well on somthing that is not working as info stated.
