Daz Studio 4.20 won't render using NVIDIA iray.

Daz Studio 4.20 won't render any of my old files.

Not sure what to do. Is there a way to get older versions of DS?

I'm using NVIDIA iray. It will render in openGL and 3Delight.

    Same here...

I get a black screen after a few seconds and it asks for a file name.

Not just my old files but new ones too.

Have you both checked your GPU drivers?

Did you install the new default resources package?

I just installed the default resource package and restarted my PC and now it is working, thanks for the help! I love this new version of Daz Studio!

The problem is back, it let me render once an now the black screen is back again.

A while back I changed some Windows parameters and it no longer says cuda cores in my system performance monitor it says 3d could that be the problem?

Any suggestions would be helpful at this point.

I am resinstalling my Nvidia Studio drivers with a "clean install" to see if that helps.

The scene does not appear to be loading into my graphics card memory.

    UPDATE

I checked the boxes for my 1080ti and it let me render on my 3090.

Not sure if this is a fluke but it is rendering.

I did a fresh install of Nvidia drivers and this did not work.

But checking the boxes on my 1080ti and it is rendering on my 3090 (scene is too big for my 1080ti)

I will let it render and do further tests after.

I have two graphics cards in my machine.

    Okay, I finished my render.

I reloaded my scene and the same exact file would not render (black image). So I switched my 1080ti off this time and then it would render.

    Odd...

Something about going into the render tab and switching check boxes seems to wake it up again.

I will do further testing of this.

  • Updating the driver seems to have done it.

    Thanks, everyone.

Hmmm,  my Nvidia driver version is 465.89 so I had to switch to CPU only render and ir worked.

My Geforce Experience failed to install a newer version

Update: Manually downloading and installing the drivers seemed to work for me

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Then back to rendering with my GEFORCE RTX

  • I got caught in this same exact boat. I had 4.15 which worked just fine, figured 4.20 would do much of the same, instead, it rendered my rendering useless ( pun sorta intended, wink). I was definitely upset at basically sabotaging my own workflow by accident until I thought to check my time machine backups and locate the "Daz Studio 4 64bit" folder which had an earlier version of Daz, (4.15 to be exact) on it. I dragged that entire folder onto my desktop and now I just start up my daz program from the Daz studio icon from that folder. It seems to have done the trick.  Will post updates if anything changes.

  • I am having the exact same issues. I updated my NVidia drivers and now my DAZ Studio 4.20 Pro inside render settings> advanced>

CUDA 0 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (WDDM - Display)

Now, a little background - I updated my NVidia drivers yesterday, and this happened.  It WILL render, but its so fuzzy its awful. So, I rolled back to an older driver 471.... still hasn't helped.  I WILL render even tho it says CUDA 0... but even a tiny render takes over 10 minutes and is fuzzy.

I can use an older version of Daz Studio but who wants to do that LOL

Computers start counting at 0 and since you have only one Nvidia graphics card it labeled with the 0.

I'm using Daz Studio 4.20pro [4.20.0.2 64bit], but I'm having trouble with GPU rendering [RTX-3060].
    Inspired by this forum.
After downloading the latest driver from the NVIDIA homepage, GPU rendering is possible.
