Getting rid of the Tips Tab/toolbar? Cannot figure it out!!
Hello Dazzers
Hoping someone can help me with this.
I have been scratching my head trying to figure this out for ages, and I just can't work out how to disable the tips tab that is available on the Individual panes. I searched on the forum, but couldn't find any answers!

I use the info tab all the time, its handy, but I don't need the tips tab, and because its the default tab, I have to switch to the info tab every time the individual pane loads.
I have looked through all the settings and preferences and cannot find anything that will turn it off!
I found a folder in the 'resources' folder of the main application called 'tip pages', But deleting it just gets rid of the tip tab's content, not the actual tab.

Can someone help me :-( !
Hopefully it's just a simple menu option that I missed or something.
Thanks in advance!

It looks like it is part of the Content Library pane, and cannot be removed.
What you can do, is left click on the Info tab, and then left click on it again, and it will be reduced to the bottom of the pane. Info will then be the default for that session
Click on the widened center part of the line separating the tips pane from the one above it to collapse it.
5 years have passed. I know I can collapse the panel, but it is still annoying sometimes when there is another panel below the tips panel and I unintentionally expand the wrong panel.
Is it possible to get rid of it now? :)
No.
Quick and easy. Thanks richard.
I want to know the answer to this question too. it's so annlying when you try to alter the size of the pane blow it and it's expanded instead. It continuouly gets in my way!!!
someone please answer.
OMG i'm so disappointed!!!!! i HATE THAT PANEL!!!!!!!!!
I hate it, too...it fouls up the resizing of any panel docked closed to it...you cannot resize the panel you want to resize because the TIPs panel locks the area down...
I kinda doubt that. Do you have any panes attached which were provided by 3rd party plugins? Because that is a definitive cause for panes which suddenly fail to resize, I experienced this myself several times too. See, my UI is also heavily customized.
The thing is though... once you collapse this section of a pane then... it's gone. I mean, it's available in Smart contents, Content, Surfaces and even Scene. Yet even despite the fact that I combined my scene pane with the aux. viewport pane and both use up a small section of my right group bar I never had any issues with resizing anything.
What can happen though is that if you expand the tips section again (why would you?) then this can hinder resizing. But that's only temporary. This can be caused by an empty pane (like scene) but even then a mere restart is enough to solve the issue. But like I said: this only happens when you specifically expand the tips section yourself. And why would you?
So yah, I really fail to see the problem here.
