Post denoiser doesnt work for me.

So I want to use [Post denoiser] this for Iray preview but I cant notice any effects, even if I set the starting iteration to 0 nothing changes. Im affraid it could be because Im using my Ryzen processor to render (because I have an AMD Gpu). As you can imagine its really frustrating to always wait around 1 minute to get an acceptable Image in Iray preview that you can work with. Is it really because of my hardware or can this be fixed somehow?
(and yes its definetly not working)

The Iray denoiser does require an nVidia GPU, it's one of two features (currently) that won't drop to CPU (the other is the alternative completion metric). There are other denoisers, though of course those do require outputting the render first (stop the render, use File>Save Last Render, and then you can resume the render if you need to after seeing the alternative denoiser's results).
