Broken DIM

robinskirobinski Posts: 6

I've been using Cararra 8.5 recently.. so I uninstalled PostGreSQL and used Valentina .. just to see and it worked well I might add.
Then.. I go back into DIM and re-install PostGreSQL and the conversion file that is used to convert Valentina back to PostGreSQL
I then bring back up DIM and nothing.. absolutely nothing is listed or works. So.. I re-install it. Fire it back up and haven't used it nor could I buy anything from your store over the past few weeks because it is broken.

from my Appdata directories here's what I'm getting

. AppData/Roaming/DAZ3d/InstallManager/log

Connected to CMS: PostgreSQL 9.3.4, compiled by Visual C++ build 1600, 64-bit

AppData/Roaming/DAZ3d/cms/ContentCluster/dblog

FATAL: role "Rob" does not exist
LOG: received smart shutdown request
LOG: autovacuum launcher shutting down
LOG: shutting down
LOG: database system is shut down

Ok .. I beg to differ here. Rob does exist and if he does not?? Who do you think is typing this..:) It's a Stack overflow problem! How do you fix it??

DIM doesn't use the CMS to list content, so problems with DIM shouldn't stop you from seeing downloads or installs. DIM does write to the database, so if there's a problem the new content won't appear in DS under Smart Content, Categories or products.

Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but I've been having this very issue for quite a while now (e.g., products installed via DIM still showing as not installed under Smart Content). I only just today thought to check the PostgreSQL log; and, sure enough, I get the same "FATAL:  role <my username> does not exist" entry. Any idea how to fix this?

  • What OS are you using, and what security software?

I'm using Windows 10, and no security software other than the default Windows Security settings. Not sure if this is relevant, but my CMS folder is located on an external drive.

Are you sure the external drive is consitent in the identifier (drive letter) it receives?

Yes, it's always the D: drive.
