Viseme Tutorial

Is there a tutorial on Visemes? I'm trying to learn how to get a character talking. I picked up some facial aniblocks which work well for expressions, but I can't understand how Visemes work. I find them in the Posing section for Michael 6, but they don't seem to place keyframs on the time so there's no way to building them into a sequence.

Or is there a simpler way to do this?

Daz 4.7 on a Mac.

Don't know if it works on MAC but you may want to have a look at Mimic. http://www.daz3d.com/mimic-live

Thanks, but that's PC only apparently. I think there is a similar sort of program for the 32 bit version of Daz 4.7. At least I recall experimenting with that a year or so ago, but I'm also interested in just eyeballing the animation…but I can't seem to find any timeline keyframes for these visemes (which I always called phonemes).

There is Lip Sync function available free in the 32 bit version of DAZ Studio. To access it pull down from the menubar: Windows --> Panes (tabs) --> Lip Sync. It will accept .wav audio files. You can have both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of DAZ Studio installed at the same time. You could create the Lip Sync in the 32-bit version, save a .duf scene file, then open it up in the 64-bit version for rendering.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. Is that how most folks are dealing with animating dialogue?
