DAZ HD Access Slowdowns

Running Windows 10 with 32gb of ram.

Running the DAZ app on my system SSD.

My close to one TB DAZ library is on a separate non-ssd HD.

If I click away from DAZ studio for too long, clicking back causes a lot of lag as the HD spins back up.  This happens even when I'm not accessing the library, just clicking on a pane does this.

Is this a bad configuration for DAZ studio? Would I be better off running it on an SSD or on the same SSD as the app?

Is my HD dying as the problem seems worse recently? Is there a setting I can change to make this stop?

Thanks!

You shouldn't really be having an issue. You may get a small lag between the two but barely noticeable. What version of Daz Studio do you have installed?

You need to set the power settings in Windows to not allow drives to sleep

Will that wear out my drives?

No, with spinning disks, I'm inclined to think the opposite
