Making An Actor

I've been play with the parameters and sliders and noticed something. For instance, when I use Lip Bottom In - Save as Scene Subset, then change a pose... the lip reverts.

How do I save the figure I edited to be the default locked in figure? Is it possible to do? I also notice SCALE is affected too.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

As you've discovered, when you double click on a pose preset to apply it to your figure, it seems they are usually full-body, head-to-toe poses that will wipe out any posing you've already done to the body or face. (There is such a thing as partial pose presets that are designed to affect only certain body parts, however)

If you want to make a customized figure that you can load, you could first apply the full-body pose, then adjust any of the pose control sliders (like for the lips, eyes, mouth, etc), then save a scene subset. Whenever you load that scene subset it should look just like it did when you saved it.

For some reason I've not had good luck using the scale parameters to shape figures. I find it is usually better to use the sliders in the Shaping pane. If there aren't the options you need for shaping, these packs give you a lot more sliders/options than what come with the default figures:

Also if you hold down the ctrl key (cmd with mac, I think) while double clicking the pose, a box will pop up with options for you to exclude the face being affected by the pose.

I have over 100 sliders and I touched nearly half to fine tune a figure. I do know that if I select all the sliders and "COPY" I can then use a pose and then.. "PASTE" the sliders and that seems to work. I'm surprised there's not a "SAVE AS ACTOR" in the save menu.

I do have a Mac, and was not offered up that preference. :-(

The things that get affected when applying a pose is Weight, Scale, lips, brow and chin. Possibly more but I can't be sure. This is a time problem since I like to use a pose that is similar to what I want, and go from there. But it's frustrating to see things revert back to the ACTOR's settings

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question, maybe it's, How Do You Make An Actor?"

How about saving as a character preset? I believe that is under the save as menu.

You... are a GENIUS! I will try this when I get home tonight. I wasn't sure what that save actually did.

I have - in the past - have done some damage to some files that seem unrepairable. My Michael 3 for instance is no longer. I remember accidentally clicking something in the file manager. Now, all I get is Missing Supporting Files even after uninstalling and installing both the actor and Daz3d.

So, I am a little worried about making changes to actors...
