trouble downloading and installing Install Manager

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED. (As soon as I tried to download Install Manager from My Library instead of from other parts of the DS website, all the problems below cleared up. Thanks everyone for your help. Vhardamis below said, "If they do show on yer page are you trying to download it from yer product library or from the software page itself?" That comment got dummy me to try looking in "My Library and downloading from there. )

I’ve been trying to download the Install Manager, so I can then download DS Pro. The download of the Install Manager keeps failing.

Here’s one message I got while a download was continuing:

“Unable to load recent personalized data. Cart contents, product ownership and account information may be incorrect.”

At one point I managed to download 26 MB of the Installer, but when I go to where it is stored on my computer, and double click on it, I get this message from my computer:

“Installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to an incomplete or corrupt downloaded file.”

tried to download again, download failed again—this time 26.5 MB—in the column where the type of file is shown, this is a PART file.

This time, when i doubleclick on the file where it is stored in my computer, nothing pops up about an incomplete or corrupted file. Windows says “to open this file, Windows needs to know which program you want to use to open it” etc.

Not sure what to do next to fix this.

If possible answer without any technical terms. Thanks to anyone for any assistance.

First of all, go to the DAZ 3D website, and log out. Clear your Browser cache, otherwise you may not get a new file to download, it will just use the old corrupted one.

Then reload the page, and log in again. Try that and see if it helps.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I tried them, but still got this message:

"Unable to load recent personalized data. Cart contents, product ownership and account information may be incorrect."

The download failed. Part of the failure is that I probably need to get closer to the wireless network. But even when I sat right by the network hub, the download failed, though it took much longer to fail.

I wonder if the problem has to do with my having not visited this site for a year or two, and so Daz log on is somehow getting confused about my identity? I went into my account and updated my address to match my credit card, but that doesn't seem to have helped...maybe my credit card on file is an expired one...

update: deleted the old credit card on file at Daz and put in another. Then emptied my browser cache, signed out of Daz, closed the browser. Then opened browser, went back to Daz. Didn't help. Got the same message:
"Unable to load recent personalized data. Cart contents, product ownership and account information may be incorrect."
    Download failed.

Do I need to turn off anti-virus software during the download?

Here's a silly question did you actually buy D|S and the DIM? Even though they are free you still need to go through the process of buying them to link them to yer account and generate yer serial numbers.

If they do show on yer page are you trying to download it from yer product library or from the software page itself?

I don't think its yer antivirus since the error specifically says cannot update cart / ownership. That sounds like an account flag error.

I think that only Support could help you with a message like that, and unfortunately, they don't work at weekends. If I were you, I would open a Support ticket using the Help > Contact Us option at the top of this page. I have never heard of that error before, but maybe some of the mods here could help, but in the meantime, open a Support ticket please.

Vhardamis, thank you very much for your reply.

Did not buy anything this time around -- I'll see if that works

Not sure if they show on my page (not sure which page you mean). I tried to download Install Manager from here:

    https://www.daz3d.com/get_studio

The above doesn't say anything about buying. Just says (near bottom left) to log in if I'm a member (which I am), or else register.

I don’t think its yer antivirus since the error specifically says cannot update cart / ownership. That sounds like an account flag error.

Thanks for the ideas. Will see if I can buy them and get serial numbers.

I tried to download Install Manager from here

    That's your problem, I'm certain.

Put DAZ Studio in your shopping cart, then checkout. Once checkout is completed, go to your account page and click on Product Library. DAZ Studio, DIM, and all the associated content files, etc. should be listed there. You should then be able to download DIM and use it to install the rest. You can get your serial number on your account page as well, once everything is installed.

I'm trying your link now. At that page it says to get Daz Studio first, but I ignored that and am trying now to download the Install Manager.

SixDs, I couldn't see how to get DS into my cart. The ways I tried to get DS always seem to route me first to the Install Manager

UPDATE: when the download finished (from chohole's link), I clicked on the download progress box. Then windows asked me if I wanted to let a program make changes to my computer. I clicked yes, and then got this message:

"installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to an incomplete or corrupt downloaded file."

I have gotten that message before

Also, each time I download the IM, the number of megabytes seems to be somewhat different.

Have just now put in a support ticket as advised...

problem seems solved -- here's the problem I guess -- I already had an Install Manager in my product library -- when I tried to download from there, it worked. Downloading from elsewhere on the DS website perhaps doesn't work if one already owns the product. Sorry everyone for all the trouble.
