Ran a Simulation, daz froze, crashed, and now will not work! please help!

I'm running both DAZ 4.12 and recently installed 4.15. Both worked fine. Today I tried to run a Simulation adding dForce to Orson hair. It was taking too long so I decided to cancel it. Daz froze, crashed, and now both 4.12 and 4.15 crash upon startup saying 'Daz has encountered and error and must close'. I have rebooted my pc. I have updated my graphics driver. I have reinstalled Daz. Still the same crash upon startup.

My specs are 32GB of RAM, an RTX 2060 on Win 10.

This couldn't have come at a worse time as I am smack dab in the middle of doing Witcher renders all week!

  • There are reasons why running two editions of D/S on the same machine is not recommended.

Ideas: Deinstall all the D/Ss. Reboot the computer. Download and install the latest edition of D/S4.16 - OR one of the other editions you have the installer for.

    Reboot the computer.

Launch D/S. Hopefully it works. There are hairs that are already prepared for dForce, one of them might make for a better choice if the hair must be simulated. [would be labour intensive for any computer].

  • Are they the same releases channel (both general release or both Public Build) or a mix? If they are the same I would suspect a settings file became corrupt, since they'd share the same one, but if they are separate channels then it may well be the database as that is their only shared element.
