Image is flipped within sphere?

RexRedRexRed Posts: 1,323

I can't seem to wrap my head around this quandary.

I have placed a sphere in my scene and then placed an image on this sphere and

viewing the image from within the sphere the image is flipped horizontally as if looking in a mirror.

When I place this same image as the HDR for the sky dome environment it is not flipped like this.

I am aware I can flip the image in Photoshop and bring it back in but is there a way to flip it in Daz in the surfaces tab or something?

The UV set says only "default UVs" and no other options.

What is happening here, is the image being wrapped around the outside and projecting through?

dunno if flipping the normals with the geometry editor will help,

obvously DAZ primitive spheres are UV mapped the opposite way to the environment dome

you could also scale the sphere -100 on the X axis

You can flip images using the Layered Image Editor.

what about selecting the sphere, then scale -100% on the relevant axis?

Hmmm, all great suggestions! Reversing the sphere by reversing its size is something neat to try!

    I will need to experiment!

I will check out the Layered Image Editor for that great tip also!

Thanks a lot for the awesome info peeps!
