Need advise about pose presets

I need help with the pose presets. I have renders on which I decided to change the makeup of a G8F model. So instead of making the same changes on every render again and again I saved the modified model as scene subset, then I load the original scene and save the model I need to change as a "pose preset". Then I delete the original, load the modified model as scene subset, select it and apply the pose preset. The model changes into the correct pose but it's *not* on the same spot where the original was.
I used this trick before and it always worked. Please advise where I make a mistake.

if you have moved using the figure node make sure you include the figure node in the preset. though i don't understand why you don't just save a Materials preset and apply that to your posed figure.
