Grrrr... Glowing mouth! Why?
I'm using Das on a mac and having problems rendering a character's face. It's the old stupid glowing mouth and eyes issue. I'm using uberevnvironment and a distant light. Both have shadows on. I've dug way deep into the hierarchies to find the freaking teeth and tongue and turned off subsurface scattering…and I still have that glowing mouth. Why?
And why would Daz create characters with glowing mouths and eyeballs? Clearly the light is somehow passing through the head of the character and illuminating the insides. Seems this flaw should by high on their change list.

Presumably you mean DAZ Studio. You appear to have checked the obvious things - though it may be worth using the Scene pane option menu (lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) > Select>Select All Lights to make sure there are no other hidden lights lurking around.
I would start by checking the glossiness and reflections within the Surface Tab first as some vendors have them set too high.
Thanks for the tip. That select all lights is a handy button to know about. I don't think there are any hidden lights now.. if there are they are now all set to shadow. I bumped up the intensity of the UE2 light. Why doesn't it have a shadow option? If i turn off every light but the UE2 one, then I get an acceptable mouth. I have yet to really figure out what the heck UE2 actually does.
