Low quality backgrounds

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

So I am in need of backdrops. Something to look out a window and see besides a sky that doesn't have ny ground. every HDRI I have is grainy and maybe about looks to be about 1K at most. I have no idea what to do with them I have to think I am doing something wrong.

    Besides downloading higher HDR sizes (16K and above) at https://polyhaven.com/hdris (which can potentially bog your scene down due to large file size) you could try making a simple primitive (plane or flattened cube) to put outside your window, search for & add a suitable image to it.

    Polyhaven HDRIs come in multiple sizes, as low as 1K.

    Check your Iray advanced render settings for texture compression. The defaults are quite low. Bump them up to 4096/8192 (or higher if you've got the memory).
