Hi I have a AMD FX 6300 six core. When I renderized a scene 3delight uses 99 % of cpu. But when is about to end the render, 3delight uses only 35 % of cpu. Why? Why not use the 100 cpu when it is about to end? 97% of render was done in eight minutes , but 3 % of the render in 40 minutes with only 35 % of the cpu¡ Thats no have sense¡

3delight creates many threads that run in parallel, each one rendering a different part of the image. That is how it keeps all 6 cores of your processor busy.

It sounds like the last couple of threads to finish are taking much, much longer than any of the other threads. Because only a couple of threads are left running, they cannot keep all 6 cores busy.

I'm not sure what it is in the scene that would make one small region take much longer than the rest of the image, but 3Delight can be slow in areas with a lot of transparency.

If you are rendering to a window, you should be able to see what parts of the image are the ones taking much longer to render.

AMD chips seem to work better with a smaller bucket size.

In render settings is the bucket size set to 16?
