GPU memory clock

Hello! Everytime DAZ Studio opens GPU memory clock jumps to 7000 MHz while everything else idle

there is NO iray preview mode active/ all settings default

antivirus scan shows nothing(only happens in DAZ Studio)

latest available NVIDIA drivers

This problem affects only GPU memory clock(while DAZ Studio active) and nothing else

A thousand thanks in advance!

What GPU are you using and what tool are you using to measure/monitor the GPU clock?
  • Asus 1050TI, i am using default asus control bar and asus gpu tweak, both show same problem

You could try using GPU-Z (well respected free tool) as an independent means of measuring the GPU clock.

  • same problem, GPU-Z shows high memory clock and gpu clock as well, only affects DAZ Studio, reinstall didn't work, problem still there

I have had 4 different graphics cards, many NVIDIA driver versions and many versions of Daz Studio, over the years, and I've never seen that issue. I don't thinik it is even possible for the GPU clock of your card to really reach 7000 MHz. The internet says 1752MHz for a 1050Ti. Maybe something is wrong with the way your card is reporting its state. I don't know why it would only be triggered by Daz Studio, though. I'm afraid I don't have any helpful hints.

According to this Tom's Hardware page an overclocked 1050 TI can hit this memory clock speed. Iray ramps up both the CPU and Memory clocks to whatever the card)s) are configured for at startup - but I've never seen them stay at that speed when they're not in use. Is there anything in the log.

Check that - under windows 7 the clocks drop back to idle speed; on windows 10 pro they do not - on my systems anyway. Driver version 472.12 on both systems.

RTX 2070 on Win 10 pro laptop; GTX 1080 TI and GTX 980 TI on Win 7 pro.

  • The 1752 MHz is the GPU’s CORE clock (Boost). And recomended GPU's MEMORY clock is 7008 MHz. There's no reason to worry.  Run the Daz Studio and enjoy!

  • So its normal(For Windows10)? Learn something new everyday! Thank you for help!

I can drop log, if it would help.

It's probably OpenGL for the viewport triggering it. Just checked HWMonitor and my 1070ti's memory clock jumps up to max too. Nothing to worry about.
