Can't Apply Iray Shaders

I'm having trouble with an imported set of OBJs. They have no base textures so I am simply trying to apply some existing Iray shaders Daz3d. I can't get any shaders to apply correctly.

When I select the surface, apply a shader, I get a desaturated color of whatever the shader is. For example, applying a bone shader it just turns a brown color. When I apply metal shader it just turns grey.  So I try to apply the Uber Iray Base shader and nothing happens at all. It won't apply. So I suspect something with the obj natively? I'm not sure what the problem is so I'm not sure how to fix it. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

    Sounds like the object isn't properly UV mapped, so DS doesn't know how to apply the images. You could try playing with the tiling, but that can only do so much.

  • Could throw them over to Hexagon, slap on a uvmap, export out the new .obj files ... import those into D/S and then try.
