Invisible Mesh Lights broken in Daz Studio 4.15.1

I've noticed that objects with emissive shaders can no longer be made invisible with a black cutout opacity texture without making the whole light disappear.
This happens in the latest 4.15.1 Public Build Beta, the regular 4.15 has no issues with this.
Anyone else having the same issue?

Same issue here. Reducing the opacity on emissive shader also reduce the intensity of the light.

How can an invisible emissive give light?  Answer, they can't, not now, not ever.  Remove the texture and set the slider to 0.0001

That's the issue, lowering the opacity (not setting it to zero) is also reducing the light emitted.

  • I see the same, not immediately seeing anything in the Iray chnange log that might cause it.

This seems to be present also in 4.20.0.2: the lower the opacity the lower the intensity

Thankfully we can compensate by an (almost) exact 1:1 ratio. Say your image looks well lit with 1500 Luminance and 1.0 Cutout Opacity, you can multiply/divide by the inverse value and add 0 zeroes to each number (15000000000 Luminance and 0.0000001 Cutout Opacity).
