V4 character presets A QUESTION

When i try to save a V4 character as a character preset i geT the message you need to select a TriAx weight mapped figure in the scene to save a character preset. Of course i have no idea what such a thing is, but i do have an interest in saving some V4 characters. I can save them easily as scenes, and load them when i need them.
The problem is that when using Reality, these characters often fail to appear, maybe lost in the ether between my machine and Reality and lux render. Who knows.
Is it possible to save a v4 character as a character preset in any way?

I should add that i use G2 almost exclusively but there are some things that V4 is still good for and I want to use her for the time being. Maybe its possible to convert V4 to G2 and save character presets that way. Just thinking out loud there. The simplest way would be to just save V4 as a character preset without any messing around.

There is a new version of Reality just released which should fix most problems.

V4 uses the older legacy rigging (pre Genesis) and is not a Triax weight mapped figure. You would need to use Save As > Deprected > Character Preset for V4 to the best of my knowledge.

V4 characters can be transferred to Genesis/Genesis2 using the GenX plugin : http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2 You would need this too for Genesis 2 : http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2
