How to correctly configure assets library paths?

Hi all,

I am quite confused by the libraries paths configurations of DAZ Studio and even DazCentral.

My purpose is to have all programs and assets libraries installed in "D:\".

I installed DAZ Studio in "D:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4" and DazCentral in "D:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DazCentral1" (yes "DazCentral1", perhaps an involuntary typing).

I configured the Base Path Location setting in DazCentral to &quot;<span style="background-color:rgb(250, 250, 251); color:rgb(44, 62, 80)">D:/Program Files/DAZ 3D</span>&quot;.
NOTE: I changed it yesterday while testing several configurations. There is no way to reset the path to factory settings, therefore I don't remember the previous configuration where I just changed &quot;C:/&quot; to &quot;D:/&quot; leaving the rest unchanged. Though, the current scenario is that DazCentral is able to identify the position of DAZ Studio as expected.

I played aroud whit DAZ Studio Content Directory Manager ("Edit" -> "Preferences"... -> "Content" tab -> "Content Directory Manager..." button) and this is my current configuration:

NOTE: DAZ does not allow you to add any syblings to the paths under CMS Cluster Directory and Daz Connect Data; you can only edit the existing paths.

Ok, lets say I want to install Michael 5 from DazCentral. If I press the "Open" button next the Michael 5 asset row it tries to open Michel 5 in DAZ Studio but I get a modal alert window with it's bar stating "File Not Found" and the body stating "A file required by the "resources" interactive lesson can not be found. Check that the file is installed correctly to a mapped directory and try again.".
Though Michael 5 is there (correctly installed) and DAZ Studio Content Library tab can find it.

    With Daz Central you set one folder location and then it places everything in suf-folders of that. it sounds as if you used a stand-alone Daz Studio application installer. It's not a good diea to place anything but application in a Program Files folder - the default folder for Daz Central is, I think, just a Daz 3D folder in the root of the drive (e.g. D:/Daz 3D/).

    It looks as if your paths do not match between Daz Central and Daz studio now - try starting Daz Studio, then download this script (using the link above the block of code) and drag the downloaded file into the Daz Studio Viewport to run it: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start then try reloading the content (by usign Run from Daz Central or by finding it in one for the content panes in Daz Studio).

    Also, there is no point in making the path too long for the base directory of any Content Directory - D:\Daz3D is good and quite enough.
