For those of you who have travelled to New Zealand and visited the Tongariro National Park. At 11.50 last night the "TeMari" craters on the northern side of Mt Tongariro erupted, last activity from these craters was 1897. At this time there have been no reports of injuries or damage other than an ash hazard. Some roads in the central North Island are closed.

Cheers

is a tsuamni (oh, tidal wave, I cannot spell for s%&t) going to hit Sydney?
seriously, I hope it is just spectacular not dangerous and life threatning, (if I were there, I'd be packing up and leaving in case!!!)

@chohole. About 230km south of where I am which is a town named Katikati on the coast.
@wendy. No danger of Tsunami from this unless White Island decides to have a major blow and there is currently increased activity there as well. Still about a 100k's from us as the crow flies.

    Cheers
