Richard Haseltine Or Anyone Who Knows

Hey Richard, ran into a problem and can't use the new computer, probably for the next several months. I was thinking of installing the 32 bit version of Daz instead of 64 since the old computer don't like Iray. Wanted to know if dforce works with 32 bit Daz?

  • The OpenCL CPU driver is 64 bit, I think, but DS 32 itself has dForce yes.

Thanks Richard, now I need to remember how to get the Open CL on this thing, since it doesn't have an nvidia card

  • AMD cards should support OpenCL with the standard driver as far as I know, it isn't a proprietary technology the way CUDA is.

Thanks again...you wouldn't by any chance have the link to get the OpenCL site and what version do I need, I have a Radeon HD 3400 series. The computer itself is just a standard dual quad core.

  • From what i can find, the hd3400's don't support opencl.

The minimum for Dforce is 1.2, which is HD5000 series and up.

I might have to switch to the blender clone BForArtist till I get my computer back, since that won't use resources like Daz does. It's lighter on the computer, system requirements are way less. I can concentrate on just making props as I learn the program and let people know what I think of it, maybe even get some video's about it done.

Thanks for your help both of you, I will have my son in law double check what you said DrunkMonkey. He's a self employed computer tech and knows way more then I do these days.
