"...File does not exist..."

Hi everyone!
My name is Chris. I am new to DAZ. Perhaps someone can help me out with the issue I have.
Download and installation of DAZ 4.7 64bit to Mac (10.9.5) appeared to be without a hitch. However - any files I am trying to use (models, wardrobe etc.) by choosing within the "smart content" tab I am getting messages that the files do not exist or are missing.
The Install Manager appears to have all the necessary files downloaded and installed (green).

I had used DAZ version 4 almost 3 years ago. Played a bit with it but not long after got into editing video not wanting to use DAZ until this past weekend. I deleted the old DAZ files which might have been the 32 bit version - not sure.

I downloaded DAZ 4.7 a couple of days ago.
Here is what I suspect...
Since so much time passed perhaps my account is still somewhat associated with an old version...? Somewhere I read that DAZ might want to load .dsf files when they should be .duf files?
Does that make any sense?

I tried to register with a new email address, password etc. to start out with a clean slate but DAZ still associates my name with my prior email address.
I tried to change the preferences to change the path but my preference options within 4.7 are much more limited than the ones in the help files.
I am a bit lost.

Any input is greatly appreciated! : )

Chris

If you had DAZ Studio installed earlier on that computer, it would retain your old settings.
In DAZ Install Manager (DIM), click the gear icon in the upper right corner (Settings). Click on Installation and under Path it shows the location DIM is installing content to.
In DAZ Studio, press F2 > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand both "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and make sure the paths under both match the DIM path.

Mike - if I may call you that...

Thank you for your extremely quick reply!

I understand your instructions to view the path inside the Installation Manager.
Inside DAZ Studio - I am not quite sure... you write:

In DAZ Studio, press F2 > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand both “DAZ Studio Formats” and “Poser Formats”, and make sure the paths under both match the DIM path.

F2 opens my preference window. While looking at all the drop-down options I don't see "Content Library"or "Content Directory Manager". Sorry.

Another way to reach Content Directory Manager is to click the options menu (rectangle with horizontal lines in the upper corner) in the Content Library pane .

Inside DAZ Studio - right? I have been scanning the interface very carefully - I must have tomatoes on my eyes - seriously, I can't find it...

    Mike,

    Thank you so much!

It turned out that I had a preset layout which did not include the options you showed me.

After switching to "Hollywood Blvd" I was finally able to follow your instructions and I am able to use DAZ.

    Thanks again.

    Chris
