New user advice please on difference between Daz and Carrara
Sorry if this is an obvious question that has been asked a thousand times.
I am new to 3d animation - was hooked by playing with Muvizu and have been looking for something a bit more polished. Have been toying with iClone but then found Daz - and very impressed. Then found Carrara and was attracted by the Grid plugin (hate waiting for renders).
My questions are - can Daz content (such as Genesis 2) be used in Carrara, or can Grid be used in Daz?
Many thanks

DAZ (3D) is the company, DAZ Studio is the application. DS doesn't have a network rendering solution built in, though you could export to RIB and use the stand-alone 3Delight (too pricey for your own render farm unless you really are filthy rich, but there are on-line render farms) or you could use one of the bridges to LuxRender, which is free and could be used to create your own render farm if you had the spare machines.
Carrara 8.5 has at least some ability to import the native DAZ Studio files in version 8.5, and has a long standing ability to read content in Poser format, though you cold expect to need to do considerable work on materials before rendering.
