Hi
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please, the lights won't load.

Gen 2 Figure - Lights and camera tab open - materials tab open - double click a gobo "Zippo!!!"
Click blank background - pop up message...you must select an item in the scene..OK
Click on Gen 2 again...double click..still "zippo"!! :-(

I have reset database and re-imported metadata, but still the same.
Would be grateful for some help Cheers
Brian

First of all, are you sure that you bought the DS version and NOT the Poser one? Have you tried rendering the scene to see the effect, it may not be obvious in the Viewport?

    In the documentation it says:

Take to the Floor DS Gobo Lighting

◾ You can find new icons for loading this product in the following DAZ Studio Folders:

◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:!!PreMade Sets with Gobos”

◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:!!PreMade Sets without Gobos”

◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:!Uber Environment (Light Base)”

    ◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:AreaLight Light Emitters”

    ◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:Floor Gobos”

    ◾ “Light Presets:FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:Speculars”

◾ You can find new icons for this product in the following DAZ Studio Categories:

    ◾ “Lights:Other”

You need to go to the Content Library pane, DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Light Presets, and double click on the icons that are in there under FW_TakeToTheFloor_Lights:Floor Gobos.

Is that what you are doing? I don't have these light sets so I can't really help much more.

    Hi Brian,

I vaguely remember seeing some Gobo lights in my DS content manager but can't remember which product it was, can you refresh my memory? I might be able to help if nobody is quicker. :)

    Thanks,
    Barry.

I made a qick test and it work fine.

The light did not appear in the viewport but in the final render.

You must not select anything in the Scene. But you must have at a Minimum of one object in the Scene (a item, figure or a floor or something else) because the light only appears on objects... you can`t render only a beam of light.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond I appreciate it.

Yes I have the lights that you all mention and they are fine...the bundle I purchased was the advanced spot light bundle.
The AoA spotlight works and loads ok, but although the others appear in the content library e.g gobo lava, gobo ripple, gobo party, gobo circle they don't load.

There is an online user guide which I haven't had time to digest fully yet....but
I "do" have the distant and spotlights and ambient, but none of the coloured ones (the ones I wanted ironically!!!!) don't load.
It may well be that I need to do a test render as they may not appear on the scene.
    Thanks again all!!:-)

    Thank you all.
I have just completed a few test renders and it appears that the lights DON'T appear until a render is done....OK...not any way to easily "control" the effects...but hey...... at least now I know they work...Much appreciated. Weird though there is no "indicator" to tell you it has loaded like other items...but I suppose we can't have everything lol :-)
    Thanks all again!!

    checked AOA`s light`s....
...you can see if it load when you take a look at Edit - undo after you click the Icon...
...and you can see the light, too if you go to the "Lights&Cameras;" Tap... you can`t see the effect but you can see the area of the light.
