IK Chain for Pelvis and Abdomen Lower

Good day!

I started looking into the chain function and noticed that when I link one character's arm to another character's Pelvis or Abdomen Lower, the chain doesn't work. It works well with arms and other parts. How do I make the chain work with those parts?
