just recently installed the Daz install manager.

while it was installing stuff on my drive, I went to eat my supper.

when I got back, it was already downloading the files and installing them. but it was being done on the wrong hard drive that being the C: drive. ugh!.

I had to uninstall it and re-download it and have it installed to the D: drive.

what a time waster!!!

what went wrong?

There's a check-box at the bottom of the "Ready to Download" tab -- uncheck it if you don't want the items to be installed as they're downloaded.

I assume you've found out how to change the install locations.

Path locations; yes, that I did.

    I do have questions tho.

I found this still on C:
    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\Content Management Service

Is this an artifact where the DIM installed part of it on the C: drive?

the install manager is on D: drive.

That gets installed when you install the Install Manager, so it happened before you set the path, using whatever your system says the default application install path is. If you installed PostgreSQL CMS then you can uninstall the old Content Management Service; if you haven't, there's an installer for the old Content Management Service here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZ3DIM1\cms
(or wherever you installed the Install Manager) -- I believe if you uninstall the old Content Management Service and run that installer manually you can change the path.

I do have the postgresql cms installed.

I have the dim installer on D: drive, the CMS directory is also listed under there; just the *.exe. in the cms directory.

if i understand you correctly, uninstall the one on C: drive, and run the installer on D:? will this change anything?

Since you have PostgreSQL CMS installed you can just uninstall the Content Management Service, no need to reinstall it.
