Gen 8 hula outfit to Gen 3 transferring weird

So, I have this https://www.daz3d.com/sy-genesis-8-clones-for-genesis-3

and I want to use this https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hula-outfit-and-pose-set-for-genesis-8-females

on Genesis 3. Problem is, the wristlets look really off, as one can see in my example image on the left. the arm on the right of the image is Genesis 8 where it looks as it's supposed to.

What can I do about it?

Personally I wouldn't try to autofit those but rather manually positioning them and parenting them to the wrists.
(If it's a single item with both wristbands, load it twice and hide one side on each)

There's no obvious suspect of why this is happening? I can do what you suggest but I doubt this is the last time I deal with this issue.

The problem is that when you autofit an item DS has to group and rig it automatically, and depending on the type of item you might have to edit the weight maps to get it to behave the way you want it. That is especially true for items which are not skin-tight, as the algorithm has to rely on proximity to a body part on a template to assign the various polygons to each bone, and sometimes it's not perfect: for example, if you have a dress with very long sleeves there's a good chance that the automatic rigging process would assign the lower part of the sleeves to the legs and you would need to edit that so the sleeves don't distort when you move the arms.

In this case my guess would be that in the converted item part of the wristlet was assigned to the forearm bone and part was assigned to the hand, while in the original item they were all assigned to the same bone or even to a custom bone.
