Do i need base genesis character in 4.7

i just downloaded 4.7. If I want to purchase clothing, bundles etc for genesis character, not genesis 2, do I need to obtain the genesis character. If I do, how can I find it. I guess I am really asking, are the items created for genesis upwards compatible with genesis 2.

    The original Genesis figure is free, as part of Genesis Starter Essentials, which should be in your Product Library along with DS4.7

    The Genesis 2 figures are also free in Genesis 2 Starter Essentials (one for Male, one for Female)

    Genesis clothing can be Autofitted to Genesis 2 using the Autofit clone which comes with Genesis 2

    Genesis and Genesis 2 are available in your product library (or via DIM) with DS 4.7, look for "Genesis Starter Essentials" and "Genesis 2 Starter Essentials".

    By default :
    - Clothes made for Genesis can be autofitted to Genesis 2 Male or Female
    - Genesis skins using M5 UVs can be used on G2M
    - Genesis skins using V5 UVs can be used on G2F
    - G2M skins using M5 and G2F skins using V5 UVs can be used on Genesis.

    Morphs can't be shared between figures by default, you need to use GenX2 program with Genesis 2 add-on to convert morphs from Genesis to G2M/F and vice-versa.
    Skins using UVs other than M5 and V5 can't be shared by default. There are various add-ons for Genesis or G2 which will give you the needed UVs.
    There are also products which give you a G2F or G2M autofit clone for Genesis so that you can convert clothes.
