Rendering issues for genesis 2 figures

Hi :-)
I have noticed that if I render a figure close up in Daz studio everything is sweet but as I move the camera away form the figure I start to get dark bands appearing mostly on the arms and feet. do you know what the problem may be. I am using Daz Studio 4.7 and genesis 2 figures like Josie and Olympia.
Thanks :-)

This is due to the subsurface shader, and while I'm not entirely sure of the exact cause the upshot is that the more of the figure that is visible, the larger the intended render size. For example, you might get banding on a 1000x1000 image, but none on a 3000x3000 size render. You can adjust this with the setting by playing around with the subsurface shading rate.
Without going into detail (which I probably don't fully grasp anyway...), the immediate cause of the problem is that some of the parameters (like scale) in the SSS are pixel-based and not DAZ-unit-based. So a distant object that is 100 pixels wide can show artifacts that do not occur on something in the foreground that is 1000 pixels wide. And changing the size of the render affects this too. This is unlike most of the other things we non-expert users deal with in Studio, where most things just scale up or down without requiring any adjustments. Tutorials and documents on SSS do explain this, though.
