used lighting but Can't make shadows come on

Hi Everyone,
I am experimenting with daz lighting and i can't figure out how to create shadows or rather make them come on.
How does one manipulate shadows within daz?
Thank you
Danny

Hi Danny, what type of lighting are you using ? For characters/objects etc...... select in scene pane, go to parameters tab > Dislplay > you have option to turn shadows on/off.
Most of the DAZ lights have shadows turned off by default. If you are using a DAZ distant, spot, point or linear point light, select the light and go to the parameters tab. There should be a group called "Shadow" . In that group you will find a "Shadow Type" drop down. The default is usually "None". Select "Raytraced (Software Only)".
(You can fiddle around with the "Deep Shadow Map" setting, but be forewarned that "Deep Shadow Map" has some fundamental bugs in 3Delight and similar render engines, which will probably never be fixed. These bugs cause fire fly like effects in the renders.)
You will also need something for the shadow to fall on. You need some kind of ground plane to show the shadow.
