They are texture files, tiling textures, in an image format.
For example in the "Glassy World one you will find 14 PNGs Nothing else. You can use them to create your own textures or shaders. You can file them anywhere you would normally file texture resources.
And what do you mean you paid for them. They were part of the PA christmas giveaway. They were Freebies. OK you had to "purchase" them through the store, but you didn't pay for them.
Just had a look ...thought they "were" freebies but a price was at the side so I thought (as I've purchased a lot of late) I bought them, mind I have slept since then :-) Thanks DAZ for the pressie.
Thank you also very much for the reply....but ...still don't know where to find them let alone know were to store them!
PNG, JPEG, TIFF whatever they are, I can't find them?????
Do I take it they are not actually "used" in Daz 4.7 during the scene build for rendering?
I need a KISS........Keep It Simple Stupid because yes..... I'm simple.... and when it comes to all this...probably stupid as well lol
Sorry to be a pain!!!!!! :-) Please remember I am from an era when a calculator was your fingers and toes and a pencil and paper :-)
LOL a texture tile is like a swatch of material these ones are seamless tiles, which mean they fit together seamlessly to make a larger piece of material. This is what we call a texture resource. You can use them to make new textures for things, either by using a template or by using them to make shaders. Take a look at these threads, which are the WIP threads for one of the New User contests we ran, to help people get to grips with texturing
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/29938/ this one is dealing with making your own shaders
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/31579/ this one is about using texture files to make a complete texture on a template (UV map)
They may give you an idea.
Thank for that...I'll check them out Cheers :-)
