(Some) products gone...again. SOLVED

I will try to keep this short and structured.

Before I continue I just want to say that I have done all of the things Richard Haseltine suggests in this thread - "Products gone" -http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/36678/=

I have lost some of my items. Especially items bought from other places than DAZ. For instance are my armors from Xurge gone as well as some from Aeon Soul. I can see them in Windows Explorer where they should be.

I tried to solve another problem by restarting the database. Then my CMS stopped working and I had to go through everything in the above mentioned thread. Now things run again but many items cant be found in the Content Library. Many folders are gone. (I have never created anyone on my own. They are all from DAZ or other vendors).

When I search the harddrive it seems DS just misses alot of items. I have tried to just reinstall missing items (like Xurges armor), but that doesn't help. DS still can't find them.

Please...help...what should I do? I am out of ideas.


P.S One more thing. Maybe not important. I thought the database in the "ProgramData/DAZ3D....databases"-map was what kept peace and order in the universe. I moved the content to another drive during the earlier process. When I checked it again after getting DS somewhat running again, the folder was empty. Seems like both DS and the universe managed without it...

I then moved the files back to the database folder in Program Data, hoping that would cure my problem. It didn't.

    Those database files are for the old Valentina database, Postgres database is in the location shown in DS Edit > Preferences > CMS > Content Cluster.

    Are they missing in Content Library > DAZ Studio Formats/Poser Formats, or in Categories/Products? DAZ Studio Formats/Poser Formats show what's actually on disk, while Categories and Products use the database.

    DATABASE: I don't know what I should expect to find on this location but the only thing I can see is:
    Cluster Directory: C:/Users/.../AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms
    Port: 17237

    Nothing else.


    CONTENT: They aren't show in any of the alternatives. Neiher under DAZ Studio/Poser formats nor under Products/Categories.

    More problems! First I thought it only was items from other sites that was missing, but now i see the pose controls are 95% gone. I can bend the hand but I can't pose the fingers individually. Those tools are just...gone.

    I am having so many problems with DS right now that I would probably need a total reinstallation, but the problem is, I thought I did that when I followed the steps in the link in my first entry.

    Right now I can't use DS more than on a rudimentary level.

    Have you installed an old installer like Victoria 4.2 manually with installer recently?
    Those old installers will set the DS content library paths incorrect. Check if your paths are correct and point where it is installed?
    Another thing can be a bad disk.

    Nope, I have not installed Victora 4.2 recently.

    In DS, Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and post a screenshot. Are the listed paths correct?

    Thanks to Totte as well. Now I understand which paths you meant...
