Batman
Wow this is good. The composition and expressions/poses (plus the dog on the floor) make this seem like one of the classic Normal Rockwell pieces that would be on the cover of one of those old timey magazines. Well done!
Playing catch up on this thread is a real pleasure to see all the great stuff Bunyip has done.
You've really mastered the painterly style, Bunyip.
thanks very much Jonstark - Rockwell is a classic isnt he?
this one's a beauty too - love the pencil textures and the full face on composition
You guys are both from Down Under, right? Is there something in the water over there that just naturally makes you guys masters of NPR? (I kid, I kid. I suspect the secret ingredient is that distasteful concept of 'hard work'.. so out of fashion with the kids these days)
Thanks !!!
Thanks !!!
Yep - Aussies !!!
With my NPR its a lot of experimenting, looking for something that catches my eye !
I think it's the flouride they added to the water when we were kids.... Admittedly I don't like hard work - which is why I do NPR :)
Bit of a Stampede - a background image that didn't make it into a kid's book I just finished and have started 'shopping' around
Experiment in compressed perspective
Fabulous !!!
Mike 3
do photorealistic renders of non photorealistic scenes count as non photorealistic renders?
Yep, nicely done !!!
Freak Ogre
Freak on a rampage
Mike 3 again
thank you :)
that's a great image to scare littlekids !
wonderful do more!!
Thanks !!!
Another Mike 3
Wonderful effect on that last one. Mike 3 is grossly underused !
I really got behind on this thread, and had 4 pages to view!
I agree. The background textures really enhance the prickliness of the character. Plus, it is great to see the eyes. Not always needed of course, but sometimes just a fleck of light in the eyes brings a character to life, even NPR characters.
Masterful. Renders like this make me want to study harder, or just quit. :) You are really at the top of your craft there, HW.
thank you Ub :)
Here is two more
Red Riding Hood and The Sky Is Falling
Both from circa 2012 but reworked this week
Both are marvellous !!!
Thanks !!!
Enjoy using the oldies as well as the newbies !
thanks Bunyip02 :)
