Hair Tool for Blender

Hello!
I am someone who has only recently begun to learn Blender seriously. I have wanted to make hair for my Daz figures a long time, but I have had no idea where to go to learn this, apart from a few lessons online, or very long lessons on the Youtube, where you are expected to know how to navigate Blender. For someone 'entry level', it is difficult to get my feet wet and know where to start to learn. It seems to be a very specialized and secretive skill.
I have recently discovered something simply called the 'Hair Tool' which is a Blender add-on. What do you all think about it? Is it good? Obviously I don't expect to create things as nice as Out Of Touch's.

I love Blender, but must admit that it is not (yet!) the best tool for every job. I think hair might be Blender's most glaring deficiency. If you qualify for and can swing Maya Indie, you will find XGen to be a much more modern tool for hair. There was even released a tutorial for it recently here.
Ornatrix is also a very powerful hair tool that works with Maya if you go TMITP's route. It is an additional expenditure, though.
