Best Reality 4 Light Package?

I like presets. I love Cloud 9...... in 3Delight. I can't get it to work at all in Reality 4. Will Skies of Economy work? Can someone point me toward a light set that works well in Reality 4? Any assistance would be appreciated. I do fantasy and mostly night scenes, just as an aside.

    Sphere of Light - Enviroment Lighting http://www.daz3d.com/sphere-of-light-enviroment-lighting will also work with Reality 4

    The reason I asked about Skies of Economy is because the Cloud 9 I have is also supposed to work but does not seem to in Reality 4. Also someone posted a link to a set in Sharecg and that was updated recently to state that it doesn't work in Reality 4. So, I want to make sure that the sets are tested for Reality 4 and will work. As you can tell, I've wasted lots of money, thinking something would work (in other parts of the program) and it didn't for various reasons. I'm getting gun shy now in general.

    You mean this Cloud Nine? http://www.daz3d.com/cloud-nine-for-daz-studio

    I looked at the product description and promo images and didn't see anywhere that indicated that it is supposed to work with Reality. However, the same vendor has a number of other products that do, including Skies of Economy and Skies of Reality 1 and 2.

    Yes, that's the one I have. I considered getting their Augmented Reality Lighting Compilation but one of the products that's in it is the one I have. That's why I said it was supposed to work with Reality 4 but it isn't for me. I'm suspecting it worked with Reality 2.5, which I never owned, and possibly not with Reality 4. Anyway, I was hoping someone who uses some other light sets currently with Reality 4 could tell me what they are using and it would give me some other choices and confidence that it does work with Reality 4.

    The Augmented Reality compilation includes HDRI's from the Cloud Nine series -- most of the Cloud Nine products are for Carrara, Cloud Nine for DAZ Studio is for DS -- set up to work with Reality.

    Have tested Skies of Economy http://www.daz3d.com/skies-of-economy and can proof that it does not work with Reality 4 - it looks very strange when rendered.

    As I said before Sphere of Light - Enviroment Lighting http://www.daz3d.com/sphere-of-light-enviroment-lighting will work, I used it with Reality 4.

    I think you must not have them set up properly, as SoE work fine for me. Any properly mapped IBL (e.g. spherical/LatLong format) will work in R4 as well as it would in R2.5 because nothing has changed in the way IBLs render. I've attached a quick (3 min) render using of the SoE IBLs which looks fine to me. It matches the DS viewport preview perfectly.

    What has changed, though, is the way in which they are setup. Reality 4 uses sIBL .ibl files to set up IBLs and the old scripts that were used to load IBLs in 2.5 no longer work, in that they will not be picked up by R4. This applies to all the IBLs provided with R2.5 and third party sets such as Dimension Theory's "Skies" series. The problem with the latter is that they don't come with sIBL .ibl files. You can, however, make your own.

    I've created a simplified sIBL file template which can be used to load Skies of Reality/Economy or any other spherical IBL. There are two ways you can use the .ibl file: one is to launch R4 and navigate to it from the IBL section of the Lighting tab (which is what I do), the other is to create a .dsa file using a modified copy of one of the script files that come with R4 as a template. The second way enables you to load your IBL from Studio, but requires more steps to create. When loading the IBL in Reality, do not have an old (R2.5) IBL preview sphere loaded in DS viewport as it will not sync—R4 will load one into Studio for you and sync it.

    Below is the sIBL template and comments, which I've copied from a post I made elsewhere (slightly edited).

    Paste this into a text editor and save with a suitable title and a .ibl extension. The file needs to go in the same folder as the referenced images.

    [Header]
    Name = "Skies of Economy Sunny 4"
    Author = "Dimension Theory"

    [Background]
    ; The image that appears in the DS viewport
    BGfile = "SoE-Sunny4R.jpg"

    [Enviroment]
    ; Gamma picked up from here
    ; EVfile name required (image used by Luxrender)
    EVfile = "SoE-Sunny4.exr"
    EVgamma = 1.000000

    [Reflection]
    ; The image used by Luxrender
    REFfile = "SoE-Sunny4.exr"

    Note that I don't know what the gamma correction should be, but from tests a value of 1 (default, in any case) appears to be correct for the "Skies of" images.

    To use follow the instructions in the RUG: from the IBL section of Lights, activate IBL, click Change and navigate to the IBL folder and select the .ibl file (not the EXR, JPG, etc.). The preview sphere will be loaded into your DS scene, and from there Y rotation will be synced in Reality.

    There are many other parameters in a sIBL file, but I've excluded those which appear not to be read by Reality in order to keep the file simple and easy to edit, but if anyone knows of any excluded parameters used by Reality, please let me know.

    You will need to keep an eye on the gamma values in some sIBLs. For example, with the Chelsea Stairs IBL (this is a great quality IBL) from the sIBL archive, the .ibl sets gamma at 2.20. This is way too high for Luxrender. The whiter parts of the map glare like spotlights, while the rest of the map is too dark. I put it down to 1.00 which looks OK, although it could possibly be a little higher.

    Well, I did buy Sphere of Light and it doesn't work for me. Luxrender says there are no lights in the scene. I found a post posted in December that says they will not work in Luxrender made by the producer. So, I'm back where I started and have decided to put Reality 4 and Luxrender on the shelf. I'm not willing to try anything further but I thought I should let others know what was said so I'm including a copy/paste. Even though I was asking about Reality 4 and not Luxus, the last line kinda seals the deal. Thank you everyone for trying to help.

    Here’s a quick list of my products that come with Luxus powered LuxRender materials.

    http://www.daz3d.com/inaneglory-s-photo-studio-point-and-shoot
    http://www.daz3d.com/photo-studio-point-and-shoot-2
    Both these products were designed from the ground up to work as similar as possible in both DS and LuxRender. Best part is that you can test render to your hearts content in DS before moving on to LuxREnder for the finished product. Both products are mesh/area light based. Only real difference is that in DS you can make the lights invisible to the render while still casting light. In LuxRender that isn’t an option.

    http://www.daz3d.com/inaneglory-s-lights-and-lamps-2-floor-lamps
    http://www.daz3d.com/inaneglory-s-lights-and-lamps-3-ceiling-and-wall-lamps
    All of these were also designed for both DS and LuxRender and while I tried to make tham as realistic looking in DS it’s in LuxRender that they really shine. Plus all the material presets have LuxRender materials built into them.

    http://www.daz3d.com/inaneglory-s-photo-studio-lux
    http://www.daz3d.com/ring-of-light-lux-environment-lighting-for-luxrender
    Both of these were retrofits of other products adding Luxus/LuxRender settings.

    Dusk to Dusk and Dawn to Dusk 2, while not designed for LuxRender should auto-convert into a LuxRender Environment Light but you might need to delete the skydome.

    Sphere of Light is, most definitely, not designed for LuxRender. It’s a DS only concept.

    What's wrong with the included lights in Reality? Have you tried those?
