Reordering items in the Scene Pane

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to reorder items in the Scene pane? If you right click on the Scene pane tab, there's an entry in the popup menu called "Reorder" and it has commands for "Selected Children Up", "Selected Children to Top", etc. None of these commands seem to work for me. I can vaguely remember being able to use these commands in Daz Studio 4.6. Am I doing something wrong or have these commands ceased to work?

The Reorder commands are for parented items. So you could create a group for the items and then reorder them within that group, but it seems once they are unparented they resort to their loading order. There is a Sorting command but that looks like an alphabetical thing.

As previously mentioned, DAZ Studio does list the assets as you placed them into the scene. However, there is a way which is somewhat non-traditional to reorder the assets in the Scene tab. This technique was tested in DS4.7 for compatibility. As with all experimentation, please SAVE your Scene BEFORE attempting any new techniques.

Here is how it works for 2 items in the scene that you want to reverse the order.
    1. Select the first (top-most) item in the asset listing.
    2. Go to Edit / Copy / Copy Selected Item(s).
    3. Go to Edit / Delete / Delete Selected Item(s).
    4. Go to Edit / Undo Delete.

WALLAH! The first asset is now at the bottom of the asset listing.

Obviously, the more items in the scene you want rearranged, means you have to really think about the delete/undo order.

Another way may be by parenting and unparenting to a null

Or you could add an alphanumeric extension to the front of the scene items so the alphabetic sorting will work.
