Installing onto Apple Mac.

I have used Daz3d in the past on a pc. I had a lot of problems running stuff on the pc, including Daz3d.

I now have a Mac and I want to get Daz3d installed.

I have a pretty extensive catalogue of Daz3d stuff, and I want to simplify things.

I have decided not to install Gen3/4 or Genesis (1) figures/characters.

Question, are the earlier generation clothes useful or difficult to use with Genesis 2? Ditto textures?

I seem to remember that most poses worked ok.

Is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks

A second thought;

I have a lot of genesis stuff, is it possible to separate out the Genesis 1 & 2 stuff, or is that done automatically? If so I might keep all Genesis stuff. So is the earlier stuff useful or not?

    I use DIM to install everything. Each of the different generations will have their own category, so Genesis will be separate from Genesis 2 Female and Genesis 2 Male. For figures, I almost exclusively use the G2 figures, but, thanks to autofit, I use Genesis clothing and hair on G2 figures with very little problem. Older than Genesis can have more limitations. There will always be some limitations when using things not intended for the figures, but I'm happily surprised at how much does work.

    On a side note, DAZ3D is the company name. One of their programs is DAZ Studio (also known as Studio or DS).

    I'm on a Mac running Yosemite. So far, so good. Hope this helped.
