Wich Genesis version my characters are based by default

I have Genesis 8 and Genesis 8.1 installed in my DAZStudio. I have a lot of characters based in Genesis 8.
When I select a character, it uses Genesis 8 or Genesis 8.1 as a base by default, or only the new characters do that?

I'm asking that beacause I want to avoid doing all the process manually (change Genesis 8.1 base and apply all the morphs, texture, etc...)

Genesis 8 and Genesis 8.1 are actually separate figures, but clever coding allows Genesis 8.1 to act as Genesis 8 when loadign morphs or applying presets. If you are usign a Character Preset to load the figure then it will load the figure it was made for, no auto-substitution of 8.1 for 8 will occur.
