Downloaded Files not showing

I am certain this has been asked here before, but I can't find anything that helps. I've even found some video and written guides, but nothing is working and I assume I'm just being dumb and missing something that should be obvious.

Basically I've downloaded some cool outfits and things off of places like renderer and I want to be able to use them, but nothing I've tried makes them appear in my DAZ program. I've looked at the Content Library and everything and they aren't there. So far I've tried ways to get the Content Manager to recognize them, then I tried copying their runtime folders into the Daz content folder and can see them there with all of the other content, but I just can't seem to access them in the program itself in order to use them.

Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

The key folders are Data and Runtime -- those have to be directly underneath the folder listed in Content Directory Manager in DS. Not every product will have a Data folder, but most have a Runtime folder. Unzip the product into a dummy location so you can take a good look at it, then take the Runtime folder and the files in the same folder with it out of the dummy location and merge them into your "My Library" or "My DAZ 3D Library" folder (or whatever your folder is called, if you aren't using the default locations). Items which are inside the Runtime folder will appear in Content Library > Poser Formats; items which are not in Runtime or Data will appear in Content Library > DAZ Studio Formats.

Okay, that worked. The big thing was I wasn't looking in the right place. I thought I was, but I wasn't. And of course, right after I gave in and posted here I stumbled on a video that explained it really well (which I hadn't been able to find before).

But anyway so I'm now finally seeing my downloaded content in my Content Library, but when I click on it to add it to my figure, it's not showing. For one of them it kind of shows half of a collar, for the other I tried it's showing no changes at all.

Again, I'm sure I'm just being dumb, but I appreciate any help you guys are willing to give me. I'm so excited to use this, I just am clearly really lost.

What is it exactly that you are trying to load, the name of the items would help?

If this is a clothing item, then it may load and fit all in one action, but it may require you to select it in the Scene pane, right click and select 'Fit To' and then select the figure from the menu.

You may also be trying to load a Material for an item which is not already loaded into the Scene (or not selected). If you are changing materials on a clothing item, a common mistake is to not have the item selected in the Scene pane (or Viewport) first.

The more information you give, the easier it will be to help you.

JimmyC_2009 is right. More info will help. However here is something else to think about which I found with a similar problem.

If the Fit-To option does not work, try hiding the figure onto which you loaded it in the Scene tab and see if the clothing is all there.

It could be a matter of scaling/parenting or it just may not be compatible enough to work.
