When i try to apply a shader, Daz asks "if i would like to save the current scene before closing it"

this just started, i have no idea why this is happening?

With so little details, I can only take a wild guess here. I would say the material you are trying to add is saved wrong, and not a material preset. I have seen that happen with HDRI loads that are saved wrong. Instead of adding it, it tried to open a new scene.

This is usually an issue with the Content Managment System, so it sees the file as a scene (to be opened) rather than any other content type (to be merged with/applied to the scene).

Or the link was saved incorrectly when the product was set up. I have a few products like this.

Hold down Control when you apply. Depending on the item, there may be an option that will allow you to apply to current scene.

If that doesn't work, save your scene. Use the offending link. When it is done, resave the item as a Shader preset. Then you can use your revised link.
