Kitbashing / Ripping figures apart?
Well, I never quite got to wrap my head around the rigging tools available in DAZ Studio. This may sound like a stupid question from someone who has been using DS for almost two years now, but:
Is there a way to remove boned pieces from existing figures and rig them to other figures (or use them as separate props)? Let's assume I'd like to remove a boned part from a vehicle (say, a seat) and use it in a kitbash. I know I can always hide the bones I don't want, but that quickly gets messy when it's just a small part of the original figure I'd like to use.

If you simply want to create a prop you can use the Geometry Editor tool to select, hide and delete the bits you don't want - often the existing groups listed in the Tool Settings pane will let you quickly define your selection without having to do any click-dragging or marquee selection in the viewport.
Thanks, that helped a bit. I actually overlooked some of those options while fiddling around. ;-)
