Did I miss the memo about GCs?

Took advantage of the offer (from a banner) for 15% off GCs with a purcahse of a new item. No email with teh code after 8+ hours so was .. curious, shall we say, thinking maybe I had got the email wrong (whcih I have done, once in the past). Went to check the order and the code seems to be recorded there. Do we not get the codes semailed to us anymore if we flag them as being 'for self'? And if not then why do we need to enter the email at all?

They are still emailed, but the code in the order provides a fallback.
